Covid-19 Update - Updated 29th March

It's safe to say the last few months have been turbulent and has left us all feeling a bit unsure about what's going on in the world and I know we have all been wishing we could be with our famiiies and spending much loved time with them. With that in mind, I'm so happy to announce that i'm now able to begin taking bookings for sessions from the 29th of March 2021. To help guide you through how your session might change and most importantly the type of safe guarding and steps i've been putting in place to ensure your safety comes first, i've created a small guide of to explain what to expect. This page will be updated on a regular basis, so please keep checking back for any changes.

Family & Portrait Sessions

I can’t wait to begin photographing all of your lovely families again, it’s going to be so great to see people together. All of my family sessions will be taking place outdoors only, this is to ensure that you are safe and I can apply the distance guidance. The following will help keep your family safe but this doesn’t mean that we can’t get the same close-ups and connection.

- All family sessions will be done outside to ensure that we can maintain the 2 metre distance rule, however I will be working hard to expand that distance where-ever possible

- As we are outside and maintaining distancing I won’t be wearing a face mask, however if you have anyone in your family who you believe needs some extra protection, I can of course wear one - please ask!

- Before my sessions I will take my temperature beforehand - this might seem a little extreme but for me it’s a way of putting an extra health check in place

- To comply with the 2 metre distance rule I will be using a variety of lenses that ensure I don’t have to get too close and personal but make sure that you still come away with some beautiful photographs. I will be using my 85-200mm lens and also my 50mm lens for these sessions.

- At the moment there is a limit to either 6 people or two households of any size - please adhere to these :)

- If you, or any member in your household feel poorly at any point, please let me know (it’s not a problem!) and we can re-arrange our session for a time when all feel well. This will also apply to my own health and if I am displaying any symptoms or if i’m unsure, I will contact you to explain and re-arrange a new photography date with you. The most important thing going forward in these strange new times is that safety and health comes first.

Maternity Sessions

Mamas - it’s been a tough and long pregnancy in lockdown right? I know how much you must have been wanting to share your beautiful bump with your friends and family and enjoy pregnancy for what it is. I am very conscious that safeguarding for pregnant women is paramount and I am pleased to announce that I will be offering maternity sessions, however the rules on these will be even more stringent than the family session rules i’m putting in place to ensure your safety. Deciding to go ahead with a maternity session during this time is very personal, so if this is something that you are interested in, I want you to feel comfortable and confident in my ability to keep you safe.

- Whilst the UK government guideline is a 2 metre rule for social distancing, i’ll be putting in place a 3 metre rule for all maternity sessions. I will still be able to get the same beautiful closeups of your amazing bump, so please don’t worry - this is what my 85-200mm and 50mm lenses are made for! We will have conversations beforehand and make sure that we choose areas that are fairly quiet and give us the space and time to conduct the session properly whilst adhering to distancing measures

- I will be regularly using hand sanitiser throughout the entire photo session and at times, I will also be bringing along a face mask which can be worn during the session should I want to

- Before my sessions I will take my temperature beforehand - this might seem a little extreme but for me it’s a way of putting an extra health check in place

- As much as you might want to have your photographs taken with other households (and one day it will happen again, I hope!), for now, it will just be your direct household that i’ll permit photography sessions with. There will be a maximum limit of 5 people in your household to maintain the guidance of 6 people in total in a social distance gathering

Newborn Sessions

I am so pleased and excited to be able to announce that from the 12th April I will be able to photograph your beautiful babies once more indoors! Until then we are able to use gardens and outdoors spaces. It is of paramount importance to ensure that I safeguard your little ones as much as possible and of course you as a family. To keep everyone safe I have put the following measures in place and will be providing all clients with a COVID-19 health questionnaire to be filled in 24 hour prior to any sessions booked:

- The UK social distancing guidelines are still firmly in place and I will be keeping to this and will be wearing a mask at all times whilst continuously sanitising my hands.

- All newborn sessions will be photographed using a lifestyle/documentary type of photography session. Whilst this is a style I already do, sometimes I get asked to place babies in more posed positions. Unfortunately I won’t be able to touch or hold your little ones to get them into these safe positions like usual due to COVID, but I can instead direct you as the parents to hold your baby in sweet poses that look natural and show the beautiful bond you have as a family.

- Whilst the weather is beautiful during the summer months I will always advise photographing outside in your gardens or in some of the beautiful public spaces that we have surrounding Northamptonshire. The more fresh air around us the better! We can make sure your little ones are kept comfortable by photographing in shade to keep them out of the heat and sun.

- The government has now announced that it will allow people to visit other households indoors from the 12th April, I have taken a lot of time to consider whether this is the right step for me to take and photograph your baby indoors and I believe with the right type of safe guarding in place (as stated above) we can make it both safe and enjoyable. When I arrive I will aim to touch very little and it is important that we also wipe down surfaces (I will provide these wipes) to disinfect any areas that I may touch whilst preparing for/or during the session.

- As stated in my older updates, if I become poorly before your session I will immediately begin socially isolating and will inform you of this with as much notice as possible. Your session can then be re-booked at a later date that works for both parties or you can exchange your session for a different type of session that I offer if you prefer. If at any point I become poorly during the next 2 weeks after a session that i’ve had with you, I shall inform you via phone and email to let you know so that you can take the next steps to look after your family.

- If anyone in your household becomes ill before your session, please let me know and we can take steps and precautions to ensure that your session is rebooked once you have finished socially isolating and all involved are well again.

Thank you for taking the time to read these COVID guidelines, I’m so excited to begin sharing newborn sessions again - there is nothing better than photographing the beautiful bond between parents and their newest arrival!
